Baylor University Medical Center is located at 3500 Gaston Avenue in Dallas, Texas. Its medical services are often listed in the annual U.S. News & World Report compilation of Best Hospitals. It annually wins the Consumer Choice award from the National Research Corporation because of the reputation BUMC has for excellent physicians and nurses. It began in 1903 as a hospital to which medical students of what is now Baylor College of medicine could admit patients. Its president is John McWhorter.
