Former National Football League Player Beasley Reece became CBS 3's lead sports anchor in July, 1998.  Reece is a three-time Emmy award winner and has earned 12 Associated Press Awards.
Active in the community, Reece has long supported a variety of charities, including the Boy Scouts, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics and the American Heart Association.  Reece is an Eagle Scout and on the Board of Directors for the Cradle of Liberty Council.
A native of Waco, Texas, Reece is married with two children.  A talented singer who plays classical piano, Reece has also sung the National Anthem at several NFL games and for the Philadelphia 76ers.  
Busy Beasley must give up network football job  Good news and bad news for KYW sports director Beasley Reece (548 words)
The bad news is because of his increased Eagles' responsibilities at KYW, Reece will have to give up his CBS position as NFL sideline reporter.
Reece worked for the networks for 13 years - seven for NBC and the last six for CBS as an analyst and sideline reporter.
Reece added that KYW will make up much of the income he will lose from the network job because of its desire to have him focus on the Eagles.
