Achievements and Notable Qualities
Beecroft Public School has earnt itself the reputation of being one of the finest primary schools of the area. This has been through the hard work and dedication from the staff that has brought many accolades to the school. For instance, the band program at BPS has been strong over a number of years. The stage band regularly recieves Gold Awards at competitions they play in. The academic standards at Beecroft compares favourably to the rest of the state. The OC (opportunity classes) brings together gifted students from the surrounding areas to work in a productive and creative environment. Other notable areas of accomplishment include debating and sports. The year 5 and 6 debating teams, led by Mr David Stroud and Mrs Jenny Di Marzo, have previously been very successful. In 2005, the debating team was NSW state champions. Once again, the A team was into the state finals. They won their round robin and their semifinal but unfortunately lost in the state final. Second in the state is a commendable achievement and Beecroft School congratulates them. Beecroft Primary School also boasts high quality athletes both past and present. The touch football squads have been thriving in recent years and the interzone track and field team has also been highly successful.
Beecroft requires its students to wear school uniforms [1] [2]. They value their uniform very highly, and many pupils prefer it to other school uniforms. They also have a special uniform for the soccer teams. Blue and white with the school badge on it, it is fun and easy to play soccer, touch football, and OzTag in.
