Bell Hill is a census-designated place located in Clallam County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 731. It is typically considered a part of the city of Sequim and is a major destination for retired Californian high-tech millionaires. It is very wealthy relative to the surrounding areas.


Geography

Bell Hill is located at 48°3'53" North, 123°5'36" West (48.064705, _123.093364)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.2 km˛ (2.8 mi˛). 7.2 km˛ (2.8 mi˛) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 731 people, 325 households, and 259 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 101.2/km˛ (262.4/mi˛). There are 347 housing units at an average density of 48.0/km˛ (124.6/mi˛). The racial makeup of the CDP is 95.21% White, 0.00% African American, 1.50% Native American, 1.09% Asian, 0.27% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 1.78% from two or more races. 0.96% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 325 households out of which 17.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.8% are married couples living together, 3.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.3% are non-families. 16.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.25 and the average family size is 2.46.


In the CDP the population is spread out with 13.8% under the age of 18, 3.1% from 18 to 24, 13.8% from 25 to 44, 36.3% from 45 to 64, and 33.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 57 years. For every 100 females there are 94.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.4 males.


The median income for a household in the CDP is $66,442, and the median income for a family is $85,595. Males have a median income of $42,083 versus $25,250 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $35,568. 8.5% of the population and 5.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 13.4% of those under the age of 18 and 6.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
