Hi Country Wire and Telephone Ltd. was formed in 1984 by Robert Whitfield Sr.
Whitfield had spent more than 30 years at Mountain Bell Telephone Co. (now Qwest) as a district manager in charge of installation and maintenance of business telephone systems and equipment.
He left Mountain Bell in 1984 and capitalized on the service delivery gap created by the divestiture of the Bell system.
