Belmullet town is the gateway to the scenic Mullet Peninsula - an area of North Mayo rich in folklore, tradition, history and culture. It is also known for its fishing lakes, rivers and sea-angling off Broadhaven Bay, and is a popular and picturesque holiday destination, particularly in mid-August when it has its annual 'Fair Day' to welcome home its many emigrants and visitors from all parts of the globe.
