Ben Ames Willaims (7 March 18893 February 1953) American writer who published over thrity novels, including The Strange Woman (1945), House Divided (1947), Leave Her to Heaven (1946), and Come Spring (1940). His writing traversed a wide range of genres and evinced considerable expertise in a number of divergent fields. Williams achieved his greatest popularity when two of his books, Leave Her to Heaven and The Strage Woman , where adapted to film.
