Ben Avery Shooting Facility is owned and operated by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. The 1,650-acre facility was named after a dedicated conservationist and outdoors writer who died in 1996. The covered main range contains 53 shooting stations, 16 other rifle and pistol ranges, seven field archery ranges, and a FITA range. Ear and eye protection should be worn at all times when shooting. Rifle and pistol ranges can be used by competitive shooting clubs and buildings may also be reserved for classes and events. A campground is offered to registered shooters along with facilities such as showers, restrooms, classrooms, clubhouse, and charcoal grills.
