Encyclopedia > Ben Knauss

Ben Knauss (born July 17, 1971 in Angola, Indiana) is credited as the primary software/hardware liason between PortalPlayer and Apple Computer for the development of the iPod project. Ben currently resides in western Washington state and is currently contracting for Microsoft.


Other projects he has worked on include Sierra Entertainment's Police Quest, Wal_Mart's Perpetual Inventory, Informix Wingz, and Exxon Mobil's Prism System.


Between 1998-2001, Ben worked for various groups within Microsoft, including the Advanced Server Technology Group and the Competative Accounts Technical Marketing Group.


In 2002, Ben was hired as Vice President of Engineering for ImarTek, a Redmond, Washington based internet startup.
