Ben Thornley (born April 21, 1975) is a football player from Bury, England, United Kingdom, who has played for the English national under-21 team. [1] He is most widely known for his career as a youth and reserve team player at Manchester United F.C., from Manchester, where he played the position right-wing from 1992 to 1998, but he has also served in the position of forward, and with several other teams. At one point in time, he seriously injured his knee. [2] Thornley played 127 games with The Terriers, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, scoring eight goals. He has played for Stockport County F.C., from Stockport, Cheshire, and Aberdeen F.C., from Aberdeen, Scotland, [3] and now plays for Salford City F.C..[2] Thornley has a younger brother, named Rod, who currently plays for Manchester United.
