The Benin Rebirth Party (French: Parti de la renaissance du Bénin) is an oppositional, more or less liberal party in Benin. The party is led by Nicéphore Soglo, the former president of Benin. Its candidate in the presidential elections of 4 and 18 March 2001, Nicéphore Soglo, won 27.1 % of the popular vote in the first round, but boycotted the second round. The Party of the Popular Revolution of Benin (PRPB), a Marxist-Leninist group that took power in 1972, was the sole political party, led by Ahmed Kérékou.
The winners were those parties aligned to the Presidential Movement alliance: the Union for the Benin of the Future (UBF; Union pour le Bénin du Futur); the African Movement for Development and Progress (MADEP; Mouvement Africain pour la Développement et le Progrès); the Key Force (FC; Force Clé); and other smaller parties.
