Central High School is the oldest public high school in continuous operation west of the Allegheny Mountains. ...
Bosse High was on the border of the city limits making it more accessible to the local families of kindergarteners and first graders. These students attended Bosse Elementary in the west wing of Bosse High School until Washington Elementary School opened in 1937. Blue and white were the original school colors. But since they were similar to other schools' colors, they were changed to scarlet and gray.
