The structure cost TZS 56.4bn/-. It is currently being constructed under Beijing Construction Engineering Company Limited. Tanzania contributed TZS 25bn/- and China donated the rest. The Complex is according to the FIFA and Olympic Standards. It replaced the former National Stadium.
