Musical style

As The Flashbulb, Jordan typically releases drill 'n bass music. His style differs strongly between albums, but they all have a cohesive bond tied around fast drum programming, acid-influenced melodies, and a wide array of live instrumentation from various instruments Jordan has acquired. He also often records his melodies through MIDI-synced guitars. His guitar style and skill has gained attention because he typically plays it strung backwards, and makes heavy use of fast sweeping and tapping. The last two Flashbulb albums have been feauturing violinist Greg Hirte, and it seems that Hirte will feauture heavily on the next Flashbulb album (september 2007) as well. Tapping is a playing technique generally associated with the electric guitar, although the technique may be performed on almost any string instrument. ...

06/01/2005: Interview - Flashbulb aka Benn Jordan (2574 words)
Benn: To be honest I was pushing to release the album as "Benn Jordan" instead of "The Flashbulb" because of the differences, however a lot of those involved in the release worried that the album wouldn't get the same quality of distribution and attention had it gone under a new name.
Benn: It's funny that you mention that because I was just thinking about how the newer styles of acid music has nothing to do with LSD, where the older classics have everything to do with it.
Benn: I'd love more than anything to go through a large catalog of obscenities about the company and the specifics of the situation, however to ensure that neither me or your website will ever have to sit in a court room over this interview I'll just keep my mouth shut.
