Benoni Premier United is a South African football (soccer) club, based in Daveyton near Benoni. In June 2006, the team secured promotion to the Premier Soccer League after being relegated to the Mvela Golden League two years ago. Cash-strapped Cape Town club Hellenic FC was bought out in mid-January 2004 by the Ndlovu family, who own the club, in a swap deal with their First Division club Premier United and renamed it Benoni Premier United in 2005. However, they couldn't avoid relegation to the new formed Mvela Golden League in the 2003/2004 season. The Rabbits, as BP United is affectionately called, are coached by former Mamelodi United goalkeeper Sonas Malope.
