Bernardus Johannes Cardinal Alfrink ((Nijkerk, 5 July 1900 - Nijmegen, 16 December 1987). Archbishop of Utrecht. He was ordained Priest on 15 August 1924 by Archbishop Henricus van de Wetering. On 28 May 1951, he was named Coadjutor Archbishop of Utrecht and Titular Archbishop of Tyana and consecrated 17 July 1951, by the Apostolic Nuncio Paolo Giobbe. Promoted to Archbishop of Utrecht in 31 October 1955, he became also Military vicar of Netherlands, in 16 April 1957. Pope John XXIII created him Cardinal Priest of the Title of S.
