MacDonald led the faculty as they developed new academic offerings, including a master's degree in music education and in science education, and several undergraduate programs including, digital communications, theater, and art and art history.
MacDonald, who holds the rank of professor of humanities, has a bachelor of arts degree from Tufts University and doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Virginia.
