Berserker is a character class (or job) known for being vicious, uncontrollable warriors. They appear infrequently in Square Enix's Final Fantasy series. They are generally strong fighters, who typically wield heavy weapons (clubs and axes) and medium-to-lightweight armor, and usually enter battle in an automatic Berserk status. This means that the Berserker only has access to physical attacks and often is not directly controlled by the player, simply fighting available enemies automatically as the character's ATB guage comes up. Berserker Character Class (938 words)
Berserkers are a subclass of the fighter class.
When the berserker earns his wereshape, he gains the ability to speak the lycanthropic language while in human form and communicate well enough empathetically with normal animals of his clan type to give simple commands which will be followed.
A berserker remains berserk for as many melee rounds as he has points of constitution, but he attacks at -2 to hit and damage for the rest of the melee beyond that point.
