NovaScotia was one of three Atlantic provinces to subscribe to a new tax regime that blends the provincial sales tax (NovaScotia Health Services Tax) and the federal goods and services tax into one.

To assist NovaScotia business in meeting the extensive costs involved in becoming certified to ISO 9000 standards, a 25% corporate income tax credit is provided on eligible annual expenditures up to $150,000, associated with such certification.
