"Bette Davis Eyes" is the name of a song, best known for being performed by Kim Carnes. A song is a relatively short musical composition for the human voice (possibly accompanied by other musical instruments), which features words (lyrics). ... "Bette Davis Eyes" topped the Billboard singles chart for nine weeks, earning Kim her first RIAA gold record, while the LP "Mistaken Identity" topped the US chart for four weeks, earning platinum status from the RIAA for more than one million units sold.
After the release of the record, Miss Davis sent me a note explaining how much she loved the song and that she was especially thrilled because her young grandson now considered her to be very contemporary.
"Bette Davis Eyes" would also earn honorable mention on "The Top 10 Songs With the Most Weeks at #1," as only 10 songs have remained at #1 longer than the nine weeks Kim's song logged in 1981.
