History

Białystok Technical University was opened on December 1, 1949. The first technical college in Białystok, The Evening College of Engineering, was organised by The Chief Technical Organisation in 1949. It had two faculties: Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. In 1974 The College Engineering was granted the status of a technical university (with 4 faculties and 3 inter-faculty departments).
