Encyclopedia > Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo

Cinderella (first released on February 15, 1950) is an animated film by The Walt Disney Company in which a young girl abused by her stepmother and step-sisters is still able to go the ball and win her prince, with the help of a fairy godmother, a half dozen mice, and a pumpkin. The splendidly realised stepmother, and the malevolent cat, Lucifer, make excellent foils for Cinderella and her allies in this tuneful version of the classic tale.

The movie was adapted by Hamilton Luske and Wilfred Jackson from the fairy tale "Cinderella", drawing primarily from the version by Charles Perrault. Made on the cusp, between the classic "golden age" Disney animations of the 1930s and 1940s, and the less critically acclaimed productions of the 1950s, Cinderella has much in it to represent both periods.

Songs in the film include:

  • A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes
  • Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo
  • Sing Sweet Nightingale
  • Cinderella

Mozart, Bibbidi Bobbidi Bach is a fine collection of Disney tunes in the style of master classical composers.
In this format, "Whistle While You Work" receives the majestic treatment of Beethoven-like builds along with the playfulness of his symphony Pastoral (No. 6).

Batgirl: Comment on Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo (714 words)
Could it be that cute little Juan Rincon is working for the fairies from the inside?
