Bibi Gayt n (Silvia Gayt n Barrag n) was born January 27, 1972 in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. She became famous to Mexican audiences in 1989 when she joined the musical band Timbiriche. After only a few years she left the group seeking a solo career.
In 1991 she was cast in Televisa's soap opera Alcanzar una estrella II, (co-starring Ricky Martin, among others) as part of a fictional musical group called Mu ecos de Papel. Her song S lo Una Mujer was one of the most popular. Later, she was cast in another soap opera called "Baila Conmigo" along with singer-actress Paulina Rubio, where she met Eduardo Capetillo, who would become her husband. In 1992 she released her first album with singles like Mucha mujer para ti and No Me Importa. That same year she starred in yet another soap opera: Dos Mujeres, un Camino with Erik Estrada.
On July 5, 1994 she married Capetillo and a few years later both of them starred in the soap opera Camila. They have three children together.
There's a rumor that she was first choice to star in Selena (movie) instead of Jennifer Lopez.
Since the age of two Bibi studied clasico ballet, guided by her mother, who was a professional.
In 1989 Bibi decided to be a member of the Timbiriche group and recorded the album Timberiche X. In 1992 she left Timbiriche and recorded two discs as solo singer, "Bibi Gaytán in 1992" which included the famous song "I am much woman for you " and the second disc "Green Apple in 1994".
In 1992 Bibi Gaytán along with her husband was seen in the Soap opera "Dances With me", a tribute to the years of the Rock´N´Roll.
A pesar de todo la novela fue salvable gracias al talento de Biby Gaitan, la Belleza de Mariagna Prats y la menudita villana Adamari Lopez que supo manejar un gran papel, interpretó el papel de Mónica (este personaje en "Viviana" lo hizo magistralmete la fallecida actiz Maricruz Olivier y se llamó Gloria en aquel entonces).
Lo merjor de todo era el gran regreso de BibyGaytan cuando "Camila" se esreno en Univision en 1999.
