January 25, 1937) is a politician from the state of New Jersey, representing the state's 8th Congressional district (map) in the U.S. House.
Pascrell was elected mayor two months later and re-elected in 1994, though many say he ran for Congress in 1996 because he had become unpopular in the city after unemployment skyrocketed to three times the national average.
Pascrell campaigned heavily for Jon Corzine in 2005 and is currently hoping to replace him in the United States Senate, but recently snubbed by New York Senator Chuck Schummer, the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in terms of being interviewed for succession.
