Geography

Billingsley is located at 32°39'37.498" North, 86°42'40.489" West (32.660416, _86.711247)1.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²). 3.1 km² (1.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 116 people, 46 households, and 33 families residing in the town. The population density is 38.0/km² (98.6/mi²). There are 58 housing units at an average density of 19.0/km² (49.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 90.52% White, 6.03% Black or African American, 1.72% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 1.72% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 46 households out of which 21.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% are married couples living together, 15.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.1% are non-families. 19.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 2.94.


In the town the population is spread out with 20.7% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 24.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 73.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.0 males.


The median income for a household in the town is $44,688, and the median income for a family is $46,000. Males have a median income of $30,625 versus $15,750 for females. The per capita income for the town is $14,713. 11.7% of the population and 10.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 14.8% of those under the age of 18 and 4.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
