William Barker (baptized 7 June1817 – 11 July1894) was a Canadianprospector and miner who participated in the British Columbia gold rush of the 1850s and 1860s in the Cariboo region of the modern province of British Columbia. On 17 August1862 he made a major discovery which made him a (transiently) wealthy man.
