William Barker (baptized 7 June1817 – 11 July1894) was a Canadianprospector and miner who participated in the British Columbia gold rush of the 1850s and 1860s in the Cariboo region of the modern province of British Columbia. On 17 August1862 he made a major discovery which made him a (transiently) wealthy man. Barker was awarded his second bar to the Military Cross for work done in the first two months of 1918, this was equivalent to being awarded the MC three times.
Barker flew the Bristol F2 more in August, 1918 as the Prince of Wales, who was attached to the British HQ in Italy that summer, took a keen interest in the activities of the RAF.
