billy mann (real name: William Hort Mann born "Erlichman") was originally a singer/songwriter, now record producer/songwriter and entrepreneur who started his career living in a car and playing in dive bars. Born in Philadelphia, Mann is one of that city's brightest hometown-boy success stories. Originally signed to A&M Records in 1994 after being discovered by 80s record producer Ric Wake, Billy Mann went on to record two solo efforts (Self-Titled 1995 and Earthbound 1998) that yielded critical acclaim and included collaborations with top musicians, including songwriter Carole King, as well as moderate hits internationally, including Ain't Gonna Keep Me Hangin' Around.
