Binyamina (Hebrew: בינימינה) is a place in the north west of Israel, near the Mediterranean, south of Haifa and north of Netanya. The archeaological site of Caesarea is located just west of Binyamina. In 2004 the place has about 8,400 inhabitants.
One can reach Binyamina by bus or train, it is by the railway that runs along the coast, and that connects Haifa to Tel-Aviv.
The place is known for its production of wine and honey.
Previously called "Eliaz", I can't help but think that the main problem this winery has to overcome is the memories left by the disastrous products of that past era...
Three colections are available : the basic "Bistro" and I turned to be too much a wine snob for approaching these, the standard Binyamina and the Reserve enjoyable in a medium body style and with eventually some aging potential.
Limited for years to Merlot and Cabernet (I leave apart the sadly popular israeli Emerald-Riesling), they were sometimes nice varietals, sometimes felt barely drinkable.
