BIO's priority issues are promoting genetically modified foods and crops, tax reforms and incentives for biotechnology research and capitalization, promoting Medicare coverage, blocking government price controls of medicines, promoting strong patent protection, private ownership of seeds, drugs, and genes, and easing the regulatory process for biotechnology products.
