Birkhall is a 53,000 acre estate in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is alongside the River Muick to the southwest of Ballater. The property was acquired from the Aberdalgie family by Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria. It became the Deeside home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (1900 - 2004) and later HRH Prince Charles, who uses the estate as a private retreat and spent his second honeymoon here in 2005.
