Birla Corporation Limited, popularly known as Birla Corp is an Indian company based in Kolkata. It is the flagship company of the M P Birla group of companies.
In 1919, Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla founded the Birla Jute Manufacturing Company. This company diversified and expanded and was renamed to its present name to reflect the change.
In August 2004, Birla Corp decided not to appoint any chairman following the vacancy created by the death of Mrs. Priyamvada Birla. The company will be run by R S Lodha, the co-chairman since September 15, 2001.

Established by the M.P. Birla Foundation in 1991 on a 37 acre area adjacent to the Satna Cement Plant, Birla Vikas Hospital is one of its kind in Vindhya region.
The M. Birla Seminar Hall of the National Institute of Prakrit Studies and Research at Dhavaltirtha, Shravanbelagola (Karnataka), the M. Birla Auditorium of Rajasthan Bhavan at Chandigarh, M. Birla OutpatientsÂ’ Block of the Lions Eye Hospital at Bhadravati and the Community Hall at Shimoga are but a few examples of the charitable activities undertaken.
