A truely amazing instrumental album that is a must for ANY fan of tony levin's more agressive, progressive side. Terry Bozzio's drumming sufferes from a bone dry mix, but the playing is very good, in a "rock" sense. Steve Stephens gets the real opportunity to shine on this recording. Mainly known for his work with Billy Idol, this album shows a side of him you might not recognize. He's an amazing, versatile player who can switch from beautiful, melodic accoustic leads to effect laden, Robert Fripp style dissonence. Tony Levin's playing is outstanding throught the whole album. for an album that was written and recorded in a small ammount of time (something like 10 days) it's a scorcher that will please any musician. |
