Obvious fake. Should it really be such a problem, to at least conduct a web search for “Black Nocturnal Darkness“? 89.58.35.191 12:13, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Black Nocturnal Darkness is a black metal band from the Netherlands. Founded in 1992, they have shown to be a very versatile band with influences ranging from folk to industrial and from ambient to gothic. Although the black metal scene usually is male dominated, the first years Black Nocturnal Darkness incorporated female vocals, giving the sound a gothic, thoough still brutal, edge. Also the use of a DJ was considered very unusual at first. However, due to these unfamiliar subjects, Black Nocturnal Darkness distinguished themselved from the more traditional black metal and became known for their different approach to this genre. Although the band has known numerous members in the past, currently there are only two musicians, which are official members. History

The start - 1992

On the camping site of a metal festival in 1992 four amateur musicians, Vrrronnt, Twaezl, DJ Noose and Asthereth meet eachother and decide that their interests in music, specially in black metal, is nearly the same. They decide to form a new band and to name it Black Nocturnal Darkness. The name of the band (a.k.a BND) is humorously meant as a typical black metal cliche, which they chose on purpose. Within three months they have recorded their very first demo Pure Fucking Evil, which they distibute at their gigs. Touring in The Netherlands and later that year also in neighbouring countries, they succeeded to play on bigger stages (also as support acts for numerous other bands) and attracted more audience. Heavy Metal is a genre of music that emerged as a defined musical style in the 1970s, having its roots in hard rock bands which, between 1967 and 1974, took blues and rock to create a hybrid with a thick, heavy, guitar-and-drums-centered sound, characterised by the use... The early years – 1993-1995

In the following year they managed to attract the attention of a small record company Death Rattle, who was interested in recording a first album, which was released in 1993, under the name Age of Darkness. It contained the title song of their demo-recording and 11 new songs and it became a small success in the underground scene. The album contains brutal, basic and elementary black metal, in its simplest form, but apperantly it works out right. Before they start a new tour in Europe, Asthereth however leaves the band for personal reasons. Years later, in 2001, she will return however with het own band Deathwish. Her place is being taken by Sgr, an old shoolfriend of Twaezl, who previously assisted the band a roadie. In 1994 Black Nocturnal Darkness recorded their second album At the Gates of the Endless Waste, with Sgr as singer/bassplayer and a new member Lady Astilla on keyboards. With a new leadsinger and a keyboard player, the sound of this new album has dynamicly evolved to a more grotesque, bombastic sound and turns out to be commercially interesting to all 5 members. The fights – 1996-1998

In 1996, the band decides to start recording their third album, but it appears that the old friends Twaezl and Sgr have disagreements about the way the band should evolve further. Also the other members have their own ideas about this. The result of this, The Haunting is an album of compromises and the featuring members have brought in all their own ideas. The result is a somewhat inconsistent album, although the record sales are still relatively good. Some noteworthy remarks are the influences of triphop, bagpipes, many electronic effects (even some samples are being used) and the fact that not every member is participating in all songs. Nobody appears to be very happy with the results and Twaezl decides not to participate in the European Tour. His place on the stage is taken by Cryonax, a close friend to Sgr. Later in 1998, Twaezl is the first to announce to quit the band in 1998, without any explanations whatsoever, followed immediately by DJ Noose. Together they will continue as Rotting Demoncorpse. DJ Noose, who turns out to be under psychiatric medications for her schizophrenia, also forms under her alias Frue Skygge a gothic metal-band, called In thy arms I lie bleeding in 1999. The downfall – 1998-2001

With Vrrronnt as single founding bandmember left, they start recording their 4th album Asgardian Winter. Despite his efforts to bring back the brutal soundof their first album in 1993, Sgr appears to be in charge of the band now, resulting in a more sophisticated sound. Although the album has good reviews in the press, it is not a commercial success. Vrrronnt and Lady Astilla both decide to focus on both their solo-projects: Vrrronnt’s Satanic Hammerdeath and Astilla’s Apocalyptic Carnage. Also Sgr decides to start a side project, the folk metal-band Magnor, featuring ex-BND-member Asthereth on bass, the unknown Sven on guitars and Wwworscht on drums. Magnor is a folk metal band from the Netherlands, founded in 1999 by Sgr from the black metal band Black Nocturnal Darkness. ...

The projects of Vrrronnt and Lady Astilla consume most of their time and Draconicus (frontman of In Darkness’ Embrace and the wife of Sgr, Axiram, appear as stand-ins on the new record Opus 666. The reviews are nearly all negative and Vrrronnt and Lady Astilla finally decide to leave Black Nocturnal Darkness, to be replaced fulltime by Axiram and Draconicus. After the following tour, Sgr returns back to the studio to work on the second Magnor record, as well to record a new BND-album. The second Magnor album at first contained a bonus-cd with live and acoustic material from the early years of Black Nocturnal Darkness, featuring Twaezl. Since this material was being released without Twaezl’s kwowledge and permission, this once again resulted in fights betweent Twaezl and Sgr and Twaezl sueing Sgr. The bonus-cd was withdrawn from stores worldwide, and Sgr was nearly facing bankruptcy, but nevertheless the album was a commercial success. However it resulted also in many delays in recording the new BND album. During these delays, Draconicus was again focusing only on his band In Darkness’ Embrace and in the meantime Axiram was pregnant and had to quit as well as member of Black Nocturnal Darkness, both in early 2001. To kill time, Cryonax released a solo-record People live without further notice, which surpisingly had nothing to do with black metal, but had a very soft rock-sound. The album was middle of the road oriented and influenced by R.E.M., The Beatles and Crowded House. He also focussed on production work in the studios for other bands. It now finally appeared that Black Nocturnal Darkness was not recovering and dying a slow death. This article is about the radio format. ... The come-back - 2001-2004

In 2000 former member Vrrronnt died in a car accident, together with his Satanic Hammerdeath guitar player Count Bloodlust. Close before their dramatic death, Sgr had made peace again with Vrrronnt and in the summer of 2001 Sgr appreared on stage with the remaining Satanic Hammerdeath-members Grolantor and Demonic Destructor to pay hommage to their death friend. To return the favour, Grolantor and Demonic Destructor joined forces with BND and they started working together on the follow-up to Opus 666. Late 2001, after the recording was finished and the dates for a combined Satanic Hammerdeath/Black Nocturnal Darkness-tour were fixed, Axiram, who already gave birth to a son, was taken to hospital after taking an overdose of a wodka/cocaine cocktail. Sgr remained with his wife and son and Black Nocturnal Darkness canceled the tour.

Finally in 2002, after Axiram was released from the hospital, two records were released: First the album Xenobite saw the light, featuring Sgr, Cryonax, Demonic Destructor and Grolantor, but also the compilation In Darkest Night. The music on Xenobite was influenced by the cyber metal of bands like The Kovenant and received a great amount of positive feedback and was a great success (partially because of the co-operation with Satanic Hammerdeath). In Darkest Night was secretly compiled by several ex-members of BND, among which Sgr, Grolantor, Asthereth, Twaezl and Cryonax, who all featured on a new song (Into Damnation, which was released as a single) from this album. It appeared that all earlier fight were forgotten and peace was re-established. However in numerous interviews, they all insisted that the band would not be reunited again and that this was only a one-time exception. The Kovenant is a Norwegian band which has evolved from black metal to space metal and cyber metal over the years. ...

Late 2002 Black Nocturnal Darkness started touring after all, but Demonic Destructor was replaced on stage by Deathstrike’s Erwin van der Kerkhoff. The highlights of the tour were captured on tape and video and released in 2004 as CD and DVD, called Xenolife. It was the first tour in which they did not play Pure Fucking Evil, the success-song of their demo and the first album. The song was written in 1992 and currently none of the founding members were any longer part of BND.

The present – 2004-...

Directly after the BND Xenolife tour, late 2003 Sgr started working on the third Magnor-record, released the album in 2004 and started a brief tour again. Then he decided that it was time to gather some new energy and took a break for a year. Cryonax took advantage of this and recorded his second solo-album. Grolantor, Demonic Destructor and Erwin van der Kerkhoff quit BND, and decided to focus again on their own projects. Things were quiet again.

In 2005 Cryonax and Sgr joined again to start writing the new long-expected new BND-record. They are now the only two remaining bandmembers and they have written all of the new songs together. However to record the album, they relied on a lot of old and new friends. It was evident now that all the old BND-members were no longer fighting and arguing. The new record The Sirius Connection was released in February 2006 and the credits involved among others Grolantor, Demonic Destructor (both Satanic Hammerdeath), Olaf van Shie, Erwin and Ronald van der Kerkhoff (all three from Deathstrike), Draconicus (In Darkness’ Embrace), Lady Astilla, Twaezl (both now in Apocalyptic Carnage) and Axiram. The reviews were not too positive at first and the music and texts were criticized, because (according to the criticists) the album sounded like a bad copy of Xenobite. However, the fans do not seem to mind this and the first sales are pretty good. This summer the band will start touring again. The live line-up and the final dates however are not yet known. Also it is not yet known if Black Nocturnal Darkness will remain a 2-man band or if any of the former members will re-unite with Sgr and Cryonax.
