Black Ranger is a designation given to several Power Rangers characters. In the Sentai version of the show, the Black Ranger usually serves as second in command. Black Rangers are often part of the core Ranger team. When the Black Ranger is not in the core five Rangers, this position is usually taken by a Green Ranger. Like the Green Ranger, there has never been a female Black Ranger. Some people considered a Black Ranger of African-American descent racist. This is why there has not been an African-American Black Ranger since Zack as the original Black Ranger (this correlation was noted by the segment on Power Rangers in VH1's I Love the '90s). Abraham is the ancestor of Adam Park from the year 1880 and was the Black Wild West Ranger when Kimberly Hart was transported through time and had to fight a monster in the past. He only held his powers for a single episode, after which the Power Coins were returned to Zordon and Alpha 5 so they could be earned by the Power Rangers in the 1990s.

Mike Corbett is the Magna Defender in Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy. He is a mysterious warrior who plotted revenge against Scorpius for killing his son Zika. The Manga Defender dies while helping the Rangers but they return in spirit to give Mike his powers.
While not a Black Ranger by name, he is often considered a Black Ranger due to his costume color being Black.
The Black Rock Rangers are the core infrastructure for the community during the event.
The Black Rock Rangers were founded by Danger Ranger in 1992, and are modeled after the Texas Rangers.
The key to the organization's success is that the Rangers are not the "other" guys: they are the participants, and work throughout the city and its perimeters to ensure the collective survival of the community.
