The Techno Union is a major technological union consisting of starship, computer, weapons, and droid manufacturers. The company is mainly run by Skakoans, a race dependent on technology. They had also held a position in the Galactic senate during the last days of the of the old republic. When the Galactic Empire came about, the Techno Union began to endorse Emperor Palpatine and the Imperial Navy. After the death of Emperor Palpatine, the Techno Union began to fall apart and was changed to the Federation of Technological Governments during the New Republic, but the Techno Union (now the Techno Commonwealth of Systems) had become a mere shadow of what it once was.
Underneath these events, though, lurking in the shadows of the Empire, was BlackSun, a vast criminal organization possessed of incredible power and influence.
BlackSun had involvement in every known type of illegal activity, and its information network rivaled the accuracy and scope of even Imperial Intelligence.
Existing in one form or another for centuries, the modern era of BlackSun was sculpted by Prince Xizor, the elegant Falleen head of Xizor Transport Systems.
During the Clone Wars, BlackSun dealt extensively with the plant Bota, which was found on the planet Drongar.
BlackSun's dominance in the system changed with the arrival of an unknown spacer, brought there by Han Solo and Chewbacca.
Palpatine's desire to involve BlackSun in his most personal orchestrations was to use the organization as a pawn to plant the secret construction plans to the second Death Star into the hands of the Alliance.
