Morin replaced Floyd Laughren, who retired in 1998. However, in 1999, the provincial ridings of Nickel Belt and Sudbury East were merged, and Morin lost the NDP nomination in the expanded Nickel Belt riding to Sudbury East incumbent Shelley Martel.
BlainMorin is a Canadian politician and labour union organizer, who represented the Sudbury, Ontario riding of Nickel Belt from 1998 to 1999 in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
However, in 1999, the provincial ridings of Nickel Belt and Sudbury East were merged for the 1999 provincial election, and Morin declined to run for the NDP nomination rather than competing against Sudbury East's popular incumbent Shelley Martel.
Before entering elected politics, Morin was on the executive of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
