Bleiswijk groeide van ongeveer 100 huizen in 1500 naar 434 in 1732.
Na het herstel van de bisschoppelijke hiërarchie in 1853 werd in 1855 de katholieke_kerk in waterstaatstijl gebouwd.Vanaf 1632 tot 1926 heeft er in Bleiswijk een remonstrantse kerk gestaan.
