The Blind Pig has been a fixture in the Ann Arbor nightlife scene since it was converted from an abandoned furniture store into a live music venue in 1971.
It was Nirvana, years after they played there, who gave the Blind Pig its most flattering moment in the limelight when, in a televised MTV interview, they cited the club as their number one choice of venue anywhere, ever.
Today, "The Pig," as it's affectionately referred to, is still the hippest club in town, bringing University of Michigan students, Ann Arbor natives and avid music fans an even mix of local talent and the occasional national act.
