Bloodbath is a Swedish death metal supergroup from Stockholm, formed in 2000. These musicians created the three-song Breeding Death EP in 2000, with the vocals of Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth), the drumming of Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Nightingale, and more), the heavy guitar sound of Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström (Katatonia, Diabolical Masquerade), and the bass of Jonas Renkse (Katatonia, October Tide). Influenced by positive feedback from fans, the band decided to make a full release. Two years later, Bloodbath released their debut album Resurrection Through Carnage.
