Encyclopedia > Blue Lightning

Blue Lightning is a shooter in which you control a military airplane. The game was one of the first games for the Atari Lynx, released in 1989 and was programmed by Epyx (who also developed the Lynx). The game is still considered as one of the best air-combat games on any handheld.

In 1995 a new updated version, developed by Attention To Detail, was released as a pack-in game for the Atari Jaguar CD add-on. The update got horrible reviews and is considered as one of, if not, the worst Jaguar game released.

Trailer-sailer BLUE LIGHTNING and other performance sailboat designs by Keith Callaghan (1328 words)
BLUE LIGHTNING is designed for coastal and estuary cruising, where her fully retractable centreboard is a great benefit in shallow waters.
Blue Lightning is capable of speeds in excess of 20 knots (yes, we've been there!), yet has 3 comfortable berths, cooking facilities, an icebox, a toilet, electrics, and bags of stowage space.
Blue Lightning has at last met her match - Antje (the first boat to the BlueStorm design) was about 5% faster to windward in a moderate breeze, and as fast downwind.
