The airline was established in 1998 by Franco Pecci and started operations in December 1998. It was owned by Distal & Itr Group (66.6%) and Franco Pecci (33.4%) and is now the total property of Franco Pecci.^{[citation needed]} It wholly owns the low-cost airline Blu-express^[1].
