Senator Bob Margett is a dedicated public servant with a history of working to improve our schools, protect neighborhoods from violent crime, and return control back to local neighborhoods.
Prior to being elected to the Legislature, Margett served as both Mayor and Councilman of the City of Arcadia and as Chairman of the San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority.
Margett was named Legislator of the Year by the Safari Club International, the California Women in Agriculture, and the American Subcontractors Association of California, Inc. In 2002 he was honored as the University of California Alumni Legislator of the Year.

Bradley competed in Senator Margett’s “It ought to be a law” contest in which applications were sent to all high schools in the 29th Senate District asking students to submit a short essay on a legislative idea.
This is the third year Senator Margett has sponsored the “It ought to be a law” contest.
