Bob Paris (born December 14, 1960) is an American 1983 Mr. Universe bodybuilder and model who came out as a gay man in the July 1989 issue of the bodybuilding magazine Ironman. He is also known for marrying former Playgirl model Rod Jackson, changing his last name to Jackson-Paris for a short while, only to divorce Jackson in 1996. Bob Paris grew up in Indiana playing high school football and track events. It was here that Bob first began lifting weights, leading him down the road to professional body building where he excelled. It was in 1984 while working out at a gym that he met Rod Jackson and the two soon fell in love. After Bob officially came out as a gay man, the two became involved in gay marriage advocacy and wrote several books on the subject, as well as made many television and magazine appearances along the way. In 1996, the two separated due to irreconcilable differences. Today, Bob Paris is still a strong gay rights advocate as well as a motivational speaker. He currently lives in both Los Angeles, California and the state of Washington. Bob Paris, on the other hand, is not only somebody in the iron game, he was on top of it.
Bob Paris had one of the best physiques in the history of bodybuilding and is also a great looking guy, so you would think that he had it all.
Bob does spend some time talking about his battles with Joe Weider (though he was a pro, he had practically no contact with Ben Weider, head of the IFBB--go figure).
