Bob Sutton is the defensive coordinator of the New York Jets. He was named defensive coordinator on February 20, 2006 after the dismissal of the Jets' former defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson. He previously held the position of linebackers coach and was instrumental in molding Jonathan Vilma from a college superstar into a NFL superstar. He also coached the USMA football team, more well known as Army, in 1996 and got the team ranked 24th in the nation. BobSutton, who has died at 65, was a successful international businessman, chairman of the Liberal Party NSW's fundraising body, the Millennium Forum, and of the charity group United Way Sydney.
Sutton studied Spanish in anticipation of a posting to a Spanish-speaking country, and in February 1966 their first daughter, Katrina, was born.
Sutton is survived by Beverley and daughters Katrina and Nicola, their husbands, Murray Gregory and Thomas Brigstocke, and grandchildren Lachlan, Xanthe, Lucy, Charlotte and Henry, who was born seven hours after his grandfather died.
