Bob Thaves, also known as Robert Thaves, (born 1924 in USA) is the creator of the comic stripFrank and Ernest which began in 1972. He knew as a kid he wanted to be a cartoonist and he drew and studied the works of others. He was so skilled he could identify the cartoonist of a comic strip without looking at the signature. During college the first of his cartoons were printed in magazines. He studied psychology at the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1950.
