Bodega Bay, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (555 words)
The town is on the eastern side of Bodega Harbor, an inlet of Bodega Bay on the Pacific coast.
A branch of the University of California operates a marine lab at Bodega Bay, the Bodega Bay Marine Labratory.
A nuclear power plant had been planned for Bodega Bay in the 1960s but was abandoned after both local and statewide protests and the discovery of an earthquake fault across the proposed site.

Bodega Bay is a natural harbor resulting from movement along the San Andreas Fault.
The eastern shore is straight and parallel to the edge of a wide zone of faulting that extends across the bay to the hills on Bodega Head.
Access to Bodega Head is via the road which turns west off of route 1 north of the fire station at the "Bodega Head" sign to Bay Shore Road which leads around the bay.
