Central Europe Review - The Horrors of Heroism: Wladyslaw Pasikowski's Demony wojny wedlug Goi (1127 words)
Although he certainly pauses to ask some pertinent questions about the role of peacekeepers and does show the panic and terror of the Polish soldiers, he shows little sensitivity to the fact that the war in Bosnia was about the rape of a nation.
His film is primarily a vehicle for showing the dashing Boguslaw Linda off as a model of Polish masculinity.
Linda in the role of Kellner is indisputably the subject of the film and the demons of war are curiously absent.
Movie Info for Blind Chance on MSN Movies (143 words)
Boguslaw Linda plays a middle-aged man at a crossroads of his life; whatever choice he makes for his future has the potential of ending in disaster.
In keeping with the transcendental nature of his best work, director Kieslowski contrives to permit Linda to sample each of three possible "futures" from three different points of view.
Like many of Kieslowski's films, Blind Chance was officially banned when completed in 1982 (the plot was set in motion by the government clampdowns of 1981) and not permitted a public showing until 1987.
