Bohners Lake is a census-designated place and neighborhood located in Racine County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the neighborhood had a total population of 1,952. It is politically part of Burlington Township together with Browns Lake, Wisconsin. There has been talk of incorporating Bohners Lake into a village to prevent annexation by the City of Burlington. Its first syllable is pronounced as in "bone".


Geography

Bohners Lake is located at 42°37'27" North, 88°17'8" West (42.624228, _88.285653)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.0 km˛ (2.3 mi˛). 5.3 km˛ (2.0 mi˛) of it is land and 0.7 km˛ (0.3 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 12.12% water.


Demographics

As of the censuspopulation density is 371.3/km˛ (960.3/mi˛). There are 871 housing units at an average density of 165.7/km˛ (428.5/mi˛). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.51% White, 0.00% African American, 0.05% Native American, 0.10% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.46% from other races, and 0.87% from two or more races. 1.95% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 704 households out of which 39.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.3% are married couples living together, 7.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.3% are non-families. 18.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.19.


In the CDP the population is spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 100.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.9 males.


The median income for a household in the CDP is $56,280, and the median income for a family is $60,820. Males have a median income of $34,865 versus $27,151 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $19,584. 3.2% of the population and 1.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 2.8% of those under the age of 18 and 4.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
