Encyclopedia > Bolshevik Current for the Fourth International
The Bolshevik Current for the Fourth International is a Trotskyist international organisation based in Argentina. Trotskyism is the theory of Marxism as advocated by Leon Trotsky. ...
It consisted of the Partido Bolchevique por la Cuarta Internacional in Argentina, the Bolshevik Internationalist League in Brazil, and the Communist Workers' Group in the United States and Canada. It had a short ephemeral existence in the 1990s.
The PBCI continues to exist at time of writing as does the LBI, now allied to the POR (Argentina), but the CWG did not last into this millenium.
The fourthinternational conference of the InternationalBolshevik Tendency (IBT) was held in Western Europe in March 2005.
The discussions were framed by a sober recognition of the current problems of the international workers movement on the one hand, and an appreciation of the enormous potential for massive class struggle on the other.
The supposed atheists of the International Socialist Tendency are going further than most with their lowest-common-denominator attempts to ally themselves with mullahs and "faith communities." In Ontario, Canadas largest province, the International Socialist group distinguished itself by campaigning for the introduction of sharia (Islamic) law for the resolution of civil and family disputes.
