Boone County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of 2000, the population is 33,948. The county seat is Harrison. Boone County was formed on April 9, 1869 and was named for Daniel Boone.
Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,559 km˛ (602 mi˛). 1,531 km˛ (591 mi˛) of it is land and 28 km˛ (11 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 1.77% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 97.60% White, 0.11% Black or African American, 0.71% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.34% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. 1.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 13,851 households out of which 30.70% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.50% are married couples living together, 8.80% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.80% are non-families. 25.60% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.20% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.41 and the average family size is 2.88.

The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 93.10 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.70 males.
